Terms
The deal between you and cowork
cowork helps people in London meet up and work in real life. These terms are the agreement between you (the member) and Mya Indigo, who runs cowork. The whole thing in one line: be kind, behave at the sessions, and we will not get in your way.
Who can use cowork
You must be 18 or over to use cowork or attend a session. By signing up, you also agree to follow the community guidelines we spell out below. If you cannot agree to those, please do not create an account.
Your account
You sign in with an email. We do not ask for a password because we use magic links and Google sign-in.
You can delete your account any time from the profile menu, or by emailing coworkjoin@gmail.com. The privacy page covers what happens to your data when you do.
You are responsible for what happens under your account. If somebody else gets into your inbox, change your sign-in email and tell us so we can lock the account.
Acceptable use
The rules that keep this thing pleasant:
Be kind. No harassment, no slurs, no targeted nastiness. If somebody asks you to back off, back off.
No spam. Do not bulk-DM members. Do not pitch crypto. Do not run a side-business from inside session chats.
Promotion stays in context. You can mention your work in a relevant chat. You cannot turn the feed into your billboard. Commercial messaging needs the host to say yes first.
Do not scrape other members. Do not collect handles, emails, or messages to contact people outside the site. The platform is the place to talk.
Stay legal. No content that breaches UK law. That covers the obvious stuff and the less-obvious stuff like sharing private images of someone without their consent.
Sessions
cowork is the place where members find each other. We are not the organiser of the gathering, we are not the venue, and we are not a party to whatever happens in person. The host runs the session.
The venue address is shown on every open session so you can plan your journey. Treat it like a coffee shop address, not a private home, and don't share it outside the platform. Hosts can remove anyone from the going list at any time.
You attend at your own risk. If something goes wrong at a venue, that is between you, the host, and the venue. If something feels off, email us and we will look at the host's account.
Moderation
Mya Indigo and Zaki Qadus are the admins. We can remove sessions, messages, or accounts that break the rules. We try to talk to people first, but for harassment and obvious abuse we will act fast. If your account is removed and you think we have got it wrong, email us and we will explain.
Your content
You own what you write. By posting it you give cowork a non-exclusive licence to show your handle, name, initial, colour, bio, and the sessions you host or attend on the site. This licence lasts as long as the content is on cowork. Delete the content (or your account) and the licence ends. We do not claim ownership of your posts, and we do not relicense them to anyone else.
What we promise (and what we do not)
cowork is provided as-is. We do not guarantee that any specific session will run, that any host will turn up, or that the site will be online 24/7. We try, but we are a tiny team. To the extent the law allows, our liability is capped at the amount you have paid us in fees, which today is zero. We are not on the hook for indirect or consequential losses (lost work hours, missed meetings, anything along those lines).
Nothing in these terms takes away your statutory rights as a UK consumer.
Where this lives, legally
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes that we cannot sort out by email go to the courts of England and Wales.
When this page changes
We will email you and put a banner on the site at least 14 days before any material change. Small edits like typos or clarifying wording go in quietly with the date below updated. Carrying on after a change is taken as you accepting it. If you do not want to accept, you can delete your account.
